Notes Tab in Rx Detail

Notes can be added for a prescription in Rx Detail in the Notes tab. The Notes tab is useful to record any additional information that is important to that particular prescription for documentation and audit purposes. Notes from the patient, drug or doctor files associated to the prescription can also be viewed here. These notes are identified by different icons:

  • - Prescription notes
  • - Patient notes
  • - Drug notes
  • - Doctor notes
  • - Group notes

Prescription notes from the original prescription will be visible in the Notes tab of any refills. All other notes display if they are currently in the associated files.

The Notes tab in Rx Detail can be quickly accessed from the Workbench.

  1. From the Workbench, highlight the prescription.
  2. Select Notes.
    The Notes tab for the selected prescription opens.
    • Make any changes and select OK to save.
      • Or
    • Select Cancel to close the Notes tab without making any changes.

Notes added in Rx Detail > Notes can be printed. This can be used for an audit, if asked to provided printed proof of clinical documentation and notes associated with the prescription.

To print Rx Detail Notes:

  1. Open the prescription in Rx Detail.
  2. Select the Notes tab.
  3. On the keyboard, press CTRL + P. The Printer Settings window may open.
    • If the Printer Settings window does not open, skip Steps 4 and 5. The contents of the Notes tab are printed.
  4. Choose the correct printer and tray.
  5. Select OK. The contents of the Notes tab are printed.
